Tigers

Just got home from Buffalo Wild Wings where I went to watch the Tigers so I wouldn't sit at home and watch the game alone. They fought a good fight, it was just Kansas's game.

Awe well, I'm still proud of how far they got. The nation will remember who Memphis is now. We're the only team in the nation that can say we're 38 and 2. So.....

GO TIGERS!! Here's to next year!!

Yesterday I was able to actually see the grass, first time in at least a month. This morning is a different story. There's 4 inches of snow and more on the way. Man I hate driving in this. It is pretty though.

I found this telling what series will return and when, and what won't be back til next year.

Thought it was interesting.

Its ironic to me that after such a terrible tragedy at the UofM, that they are playing Marshall, the one school that will understand what they are going through.

I'm only glad that the game is going to be shown nationally, so I'll have a chance to watch it. I'm sure the commentators will be talking about Bradford off and on as the game is played. I think it is very moving that the players decided to go through with the game. From what I've read, they could have canceled it.

On one of the Tiger forums I read a Marshall fan's words of encouragement. It was very touching, he gave his condolences and sent out a prayer for the family and friends, but what was most touching was that he ended his statement with:

"We Are Memphis!"

The Marshal chant that keep them going after their tragedy years ago.

What the Heck is a Hoosier??

When I first moved here, I was told welcome to the Hoosier state. My uncle even said to me "You're going to the Hoosiers." I was like "What the heck is a Hoosier?" No one would answer me. I finally found out where it came from.

"The correct definition was probably found by Jacob Piatt Dunn, Jr., Indiana historian and longtime secretary of the IHS. Dunn noted that "hoosier" was frequently used in many parts of the South in the 19th century for woodsmen or rough hill people. He traced the word back to "hoozer," in the Cumberland dialect of England. This derives from the Anglo-Saxon word "hoo" meaning high or hill. In the Cumberland dialect, the world "hoozer" meant anything unusually large, presumably like a hill. It is not hard to see how this word was attached to a hill dweller or highlander. Immigrants from Cumberland, England, settled in the southern mountains (Cumberland Mountains, Cumberland River, Cumberland Gap, etc.). Their descendants brought the name with them when they settled in the hills of southern Indiana."

And it still doesn't make any sense to me.

Of course I had to go look at the peanut butter I have.
Wouldn't you know, I have a jar with the 2-1-1-1 on the lid. Great! Good thing I haven't eaten it in awhile. And of course mom and my sister think that's why I've been sick this week. Hello, haven't had it in weeks.

Oh well, guess I'll dispose of it, and send the top in for a refund.
FIVE BEST THINGS TO SAY IF YOU GET CAUGHT SLEEPING AT YOUR DESK

5. "They told me at the Blood Bank this might happen."

4. "This is just a 15 minute power nap they raved about in the time management course you sent me to."

3. "Whew! Guess I left the top off the Whiteout. You probably got here just in time."

2. "Did you ever notice sound coming out of these keyboards when you put your ear down real close?"

And the NUMBER ONE best thing to say if you get caught sleeping at your desk...

1. Raise your head slowly and say, "...in Jesus' name, Amen."

DMB Vacation

Just got home from seeing Dave Matthews in Nashville. My friends and I have gone for the past 3 years, this year has got to have been the best!! My friend Rohbi and I went just the two of us this year. Usually we make it a few people, but no one could take the time off or had that money to go. But it was just fine by us, we had a blast. It was so awesome! I can't wait for their new album to come out. They played at least 4 songs from the new album. And for the first time I got to hear his first single, live. It was like I said AWESOME!!

Can't wait til next year.

We stayed in Murfreesburo, with my sister. Weds. we spent the day at Fall Creek Falls. It is so beautiful there. There are 4 different waterfalls. And like 2 different ways to get to each of them. We only went to one, because we didn't want to be late for the show. But man, my legs are killing me. It was a rough hike to the water, but it was so nice when we got in. Between the three of us we have some wonderful pictures.

On the way back to Memphis, Rohbi and I stopped at the "Vote No on 1" campaign headquarters. We stopped by so we could bring signs and stickers and such to the MGLCC. Turns out we got there during their grand opening. So, not only did we get to meet the campaign leader, we got to meet a whole bunch of active people as well. It was really nice, and actually yours truly is writing an article in the Triangle Journal on the headquarters. Which is cool to me, cause that means I'll be a published writer, in so many words.

One lesson learned in Nashville, pay for your parking. I parked in a empty lot, and ended up getting my car towed. $80 later we were back on the road to Memphis.

Got home tonight around 1230 or so. Couldn't sleep so now I've ranted. Hope everyone else had as great of a week as me. Now back to work and all that crap.

In Columbus

In Columbus, MS. Yes for work, not for pleasure. Its such a small little hick town. I'm here for the weekend. Hoping I don't have to come back next weekend or the weekend after. They are having a hard time keeping someone at the store ever since the guy quit to be a preacher. The crazy part is, they had to fire the person they hired 3 weeks ago to take his place. And when she heard the news, she told the district manager she was crazy over and over. That girl was crazy, I came down here two weeks ago to train her and she told me her son was at the hospital, which I recently found out to be a lie.

Anyways, enough ranting over crazy people. Lets hope I can stay home next week for Tobey and Dana's party.

WoW

Ok so, I started playing WoW (World of Warcraft). I actually really like it. I have a new character that timeimp and leancio had me create, she's so cute. A gnome warlock with pink pigtails.

My roommate says I'm selling out for playing. But hell the graphics are better then my PS2, and I'm having a lot of fun.
So Whatever.

Enough of that. School starts back in exactaly a month. I'm taking 15 hours, so I might not be the best person to be around. Just to warn everyone. LOL.

It Is Done

Went in to the office this morning. Told them I could no longer work for them. Got my paycheck, and was told to stop by the next two Fridays for my other paychecks. That's kinda cool. I just thought, the way the company worked, I wouldn't be getting paid for the past two weeks. But hell I'll take 'em. I earned it, I was going to be very pissed if I didn't get 'em. Even though like I just said I have expected not to.
I'm sure I'll be happier not doing that anymore. It was rough. More stress then I want right now. Especially with school starting back for the summer today.
Anyone good at Spanish? I might need some help. 8 weeks of Spanish. Oh I hate foreign languages!
